FARMER TO FARMER COMMUNICATION THROUGH VIDEO &AUDIO IN LOCAL LANGUAGES

Processes to facilitate extension at farmer and extension service officers levels
1. Developing content through research and farmer experiences
2. Testing content using farmers not involved in content developing
3. VIDEO& Audio; content visualization
4. Content value emphasis on HOW TO
5. Further video/audio testing among filmed farmers
6. Product PACKAGING : Translations/Multiplication/Distribution
7. Website for use by extension service providers and farmers

 HOW TO UPSCALE OUT/UP OF ACCESS AGRICULTURE CORE ACTIVITIES 
1. Train more extension service officers from FOs/Farmer Groups on video production to a professional standard.*
2. To facilitate more trainer-institutions to develop capacity for quality videos and audio in all major African languages.*
3. Create linkages with mobile phone companies and ISP for SMS alerts to farmers regarding market availability and pricing.*
*New partnerships and funding required to meet enormous demands.

WHAT AFAAS CAN DO TO HELP IN THE UP/OUTSCALING PLAN
1. Partner with funding agencies e.g. World Bank and AGRA tocreate a fund to support translations/multiplication/distribution of video/audio products, especially in countries with critical challenges of extension services and those with serious food production challenges.
2. Post regular linkages to interfacing interests in extension services e.g. FOs/Government Extension services and facilitators of extension services. These alerts summarise who is doing what, when and how.
